If you haven’t already, we’d encourage you to download our Xplorer app (Satmap Xplorer GPS on the App Store or Google Play), which is perfect for using when you’re out and about on the trails.
It’s very easy to use and to help you get started we’ve created a new guide which tells you everything you need to know when using it for the first time.
The app means:
- The routes you have planned on Xpedition2 are automatically synched to the app and at your finger tips
- You’re not relying on a mobile phone signal – the app will allow you to navigate by GPS
- You can toggle between different maps to get the best view for navigation
- You can record your activities which automatically synch with your Xpedition2 account for viewing from your PC/laptop when you’re home.
Once you’ve downloaded the app and logged in, you can view the routes you have created in Xpedition2 and then download your chosen route onto your device, allowing you to navigate via GPS without the need for a mobile signal.
You can then navigate easily, zooming in and out to view the route, toggling between different maps, depending on your chosen payment plan. If you need a different type or scale of map, go to My Maps. Premium subscribers can install OS maps free of charge. If you don’t have Premium and are a Standard subscriber, you can purchase additional maps to use for a single journey or for ongoing use with all your trips.
When you’ve finished your adventure, you can save your activity (the one you actually did, which may be different to the one you planned to do!) and this will automatically synch with your Xpedition2 account ready to view and manage when you’re next online.
